Let's take a step back 100 years to the fall of 1924, when universities across the Big Ten were unveiling new or renovated football stadiums to meet the growing demands of students, alumni, and fans. That season the University of Illinois, Michigan Agricultural College, and the University of Minnesota all unveiled new stadiums. Annual attendance rates were on the rise and new stadiums across the country were beginning to hold upwards of 60,000 to 70,000 spectators.
A century later, the game of football is still bringing communities together and stadiums are the venue for that electric experience. On September 6th, Schoolcraft High School proudly unveiled its newly renovated Roy Davis Stadium, a project made possible by the 2020 Bond. The updated stadium now features new seating for home and away spectators, upgraded bathrooms, enhanced accessibility for all visitors, a new sound system, a beautiful scoreboard, a new track and fencing, and a grand entrance adorned with memorial bricks donated by dedicated fans across Eagle Nation.
This Fall, the Eagles will host Centreville (9/6), Constantine (9/13), Coloma (9/27), Lawton (10/4), and Saugatuck (10/11) at Roy Davis Stadium. We look forward to continuing the rich traditions of Schoolcraft High School during this historic season. Join us as the band plays, the crowds cheer, the fight songs echo, and our varsity Eagles carry on the legacy of nearly 100 years of Schoolcraft football.
